When I first put on the Reebok Harmony Road running shoe, I wasn’t sure how it would hold up to the miles I had before me. But I was eager to give the shoe a try – love trying various running shoes – always in the quest for the perfect shoe for each situation, the Reebok Harmony Road was designed to be a shoe for distance running. And I love to run.
Not having worn a Reebok shoe for distance running, I selected my usual running size – 10. I wear a 9.5 Women’s shoe for every day wear, but a 10 for running. So 10 it was.
The first thing I noticed about the Reebok Harmony Road shoes was the neutral design that goes with anything. The pair I received are a nice neutral gray with orange accents.
Perfect match for any outfit, and any sock color choice. I took them out of the box and noticed how lightweight they were. This was a good sign – I can no longer handle really heavy shoes for longer run distances.
They feel really lightweight on the foot, although the 10s are a little big for me. I recommend not up-sizing too much with the Reebok Harmony Road shoes, as they are generous in proportions. At least this will come in handy for maintaining the toenails! (#runnerproblems)
Running in the Reebok Harmony Road was easy and light – they felt stable (albeit a tad too big for me, as I mentioned) and smooth. I tried sidewalks, street, treadmill, and a “rails to trails” type surface, with no issues. I haven’t even put my custom orthotics in them and they stood the test of runs of varying distances with no pain or discomfort. Score!
I’ve long been a fan of Reebok since my youth – and wow, have shoes changed since then! Even for kids – I reviewed the Reebok ZigTech shoes a couple of years ago and my daughter loved those until she could no longer fit into them! The technology that went into the Harmony Road is impressive – SmoothFuse upper to keep it light, Kooshlan TPU foam to absorb shock, carbon rubber heelstrike for traction.
The Reebok Harmony Road running shoe is getting a lot of attention this year – the shoe has even won Runner’s World 2017 Best Debut Shoe.
They breathed well and I had zero issues – if they were just a tad smaller they might be my go-to shoe for 2017!
They come in men’s and women’s and a few different colors. Check them out here.
I can’t wait to ramp up my mileage as I train for Ironman Lake Placid and my other 2017 races. I’m looking for a fall marathon so getting some steady miles under my feet after the triathlon season will be key to my fall fun!
